ASCII- A standard way to assign numerical values to the set of letters in the Roman alphabet and typographic characters.
Charles Baddage- Scientist who relied on mathematic, scientific charts.
Herman Hollerith- One of the founders of the modern information processor. His company became part of IBM.
Colossus- A computer like machine that would stop the inigma. Preformed logical things to break German codes.
Mawchley & Eckert- The inventors of Eniac, larger then the colossus. And completed three months after the Japanese surrendered.
John Von Neurmann- Wrote a paper about the next step to computers. Described each part of the computer and what it would look like. He was known for having a photographic memory.
IBM- come out with the PC's in the early 1980's.
Kilby & Noyce-Came up with an entire system transistors on one small chip.
Tedd Hoff- Made the microprocessor, which is programed just like a computer.
Douglas Engelbart- He invented the computer mouse.
Xerox- A photocopying machine.
Steve Wozniak & Steve Jobs- Manufactured computers call the apple one in a garage. Jobs was a drop out from college but was still smart. And Wozniak was an engineer. They created the first mini computer kit.
Bill Gates- President of Microsoft, which soon became a very popular software. He is now the richest man in the world.
